"I make art to show how we are ever growing, changing, evolving and transforming. It is a message of optimism and hope. " - Dee Perconti
It’s almost time for the second reception for my MATERIAL GIRLS show on July 14th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the really stunning Gilbert Gallery. I think I have mentioned before, the visual delight of seeing the sun setting through the Gallery stained glass. I’d love for you to come to my show but if you can’t, make sure to visit this jewel of a gallery sometime.
Material Girls by Dee Perconti. Work in progress.
Here’s what’s new since the Opening in June. My friend Nancy Schwartz of “So Chic Consignment” has given me more sumptuous material. Some of the prices on the sample books are more than $100 a yard! In this treasure trove, I found ROSES! ….Gorgeous, delicate, exquisite roses made from silk. I was ecstatic. So my latest three Material Girls have at least one, and sometimes more, glorious roses!
I love the excitement of working with new materials in new ways. I just can’t stop experimenting to see how the fabric bends and drapes and layers. It always surprises me. The “Girls” and I look forward to seeing you on Saturday the 14th! Please enter on the 2nd Ave N side, where there is parking.
We will have our interactive collage table set up again so that you can try your hand! You will enjoy it!
Looking forward to seeing your three new collages with that fabulous fabric.
