Vinoy Place Has Talent!

On March 24^th, Vinoy Place Condominiums held an evening Spring Fling and Art Show for its residents. The beautiful social room was filled with food and art created by eight artists who live at Vinoy Place in St. Petersburg, Florida.  The event was called “The Many Faces of Vinoy Place Art.” Residents were delighted with the different types of art presented: watercolor, acrylic, oil, jewelry and collage. The most often heard comment was “Vinoy Place has talent!”

I displayed 7 of my collage pieces around the fireplace and on the mantel. Some of my neighbors, especially those who didn’t know my art very well, were moved by the vibrancy and power of the colors. Several said, “Who knew?” They enjoyed hearing how I used pieces of my old paintings to make new collages. They were also interested by the 3 dimensional aspect of the work. And they all took invitations to my Opening Reception at Opera Central on May 13^th.

It was a lovely gathering, mixing friends, fine food and good art.
