OPENING RECEPTION: January 4, 2023, at 5:30 PM
Women are strong, intelligent, and talented. We don’t need to silence our magnificence in order to be someone’s idea of a “lady”.
Alicia Campos Masso has started an important movement to shine a light on female artists who have been underrepresented in Art History. They should have been LEGENDS but were not.
Campos is an international narrative artist, psychologist, art therapist, educator, teaching artist, and social entrepreneur, dedicated 100% to her art and teaching.
Female artists were mainly ignored, marginalized or disregarded in comparison with male artists of the same time. Alicia’s call to artists asked them to choose one of 100 underrepresented female artists. Each participating artist will create a piece in her own style honoring one of these outstanding and mostly unknown female artists.
Perhaps now they will receive the accolades they deserve.
