This is The Time of Year!

The Colors of The Season art Show

The Colors of The Season

This is the time of year that fills me up!   I’ve been able to open my sliding doors and deep-breathe cool air. From 21 stories up it is remarkable.  It is the season of promise and change.

I still get “butterflies”  like a child when I think of Christmas with its stirring music and brilliant colors. Everything sparkles and shines. Magic is everywhere. And New Year’s Eve is incredible!   The fireworks represent all the diverse possibilities that are in our faces if we choose to see them.

So when Natalie Velez asked me to exhibit my work in her “Colors of the Season” Bella Unica group show I was thrilled!  And what better place than the gorgeous Gilbert Chapel Gallery in St. Pete with its lovely stained glass, to celebrate the beginning of the holidays.

I began thinking about how my art would integrate into the colors and change-of-season theme.  I looked at one of my pieces called “Duba Mystery” and noticed that the lion’s mane looks like autumn leaves.  And “Taos”. another piece has all the fall colors in it.  As a matter of fact, most of my work has oranges, reds, golds, and greens in it.  My smaller gold painting called “Angel” speaks of Christmas.

I am one of 6 artists exhibiting at the Bella Unica Colors of the Season show.  The collective talent is impressive. There are paintings, mixed media, sculptures, jewelry and prints.  One could do a lot of Christmas shopping at this show.

I have seen most of the work that will be at the Gilbert Gallery and I can say you will have sensory overload!  The stunning colors will make your heart happy.

You will feel good about your purchases too, because 10% of the profit goes to Rapha House which rescues, loves and heals children who have been victims of trafficking. www.raphahouse.org
